What is the ACT Module and how does it work?

Understand what the ACT Module does, why it exists, and how it fits into your post-survey workflow

Getting survey results is only the first step. The harder part, and where most organisations struggle, is knowing what to do with them. That is exactly what the ACT Module is built to solve. It gives you a structured, in-platform workspace to turn your survey insights into real, trackable action.

Why the ACT Module exists

After a survey closes, three challenges tend to come up consistently:

  • Uncertainty — it is not always clear which areas to prioritise first.
  • Ideas — it can be difficult to know where to begin when looking for solutions.
  • Accountability — without a system for tracking follow-up, commitments can fall through the cracks.

The ACT Module is designed to address all three. It helps you identify what to focus on, gives you curated ideas to act on, and provides a shared workspace to document and track your commitments — all in one place.

The two core features

  1. Dimensions & Action Suggestions — the 'What' and 'Why' This feature automatically analyses your survey results to identify your team's biggest strengths and areas for improvement across each dimension. It then surfaces a library of practical, science-backed ideas developed by EngageRocket's People Science team — so you do not have to start from scratch when deciding what to do next.
  2. Action Plans — the 'How' and 'When' This is your dedicated workspace for documenting the specific steps you will take. You can create actions from the suggestions library or write custom ones, set deadlines, and track progress from start to finish. Action Plans create a clear, visible record of your commitments — making it easier to stay accountable and share progress with your team.

💡 How it flows: Analyse your results on the dashboard → Identify priority areas on the Actions tab → Discover relevant suggestions → Create Action Plans → Track progress to completion. The ACT Module closes the feedback loop between survey insights and real change.

Who can use the ACT Module

Both Entity Admins and Unit Heads can access the ACT Module, but what they see depends on their permission level:

  • Admins see an organisation-wide view — action suggestions and plans across all teams.
  • Unit Heads see a team-level view — suggestions and plans relevant to their specific unit only.

💡 Subscription required: The ACT Module requires an active ACT subscription. If you cannot see the Actions tab on your dashboard, contact your Customer Success Manager to confirm it is enabled for your account.

Something not working?
  • The Actions tab is not visible on my dashboard — The ACT Module requires an active subscription. Contact your Customer Success Manager to confirm it is enabled for your workspace.
  • I can see the Actions tab but it is empty — Make sure a survey has closed and results are available. The ACT Module pulls its data from your closed survey results.
