The Questionnaire page in EngageRocket is where you define the very essence of your survey. This is where the critical process of crafting impactful questions begins, questions that will capture valuable insights directly from your participants. Designed to support a seamless survey-building experience, this section offers all the tools needed to ensure your data collection is clear, culturally relevant, and analytically powerful.
If this is your first survey project, you’ll be automatically directed to the Questionnaire Page after setting up your Survey Project.
For any additional surveys within the same project, simply click ‘+ Create New Survey’ to get started.
Questions Tab
Once you've created your survey, you can choose from our questionnaire templates featuring research-backed questions curated by our People Science team. These are designed to provide meaningful insights into employee engagement and support active listening. If you haven’t conducted a comprehensive validation of your own questions, we recommend using our standard question set to ensure reliable and actionable results.
Prefer to use your own questions? No problem. You can easily do so by clicking the ‘I have my own questions’ button, which will take you to the Custom Questions page to build a survey aligned with your specific goals.
You’ll also be able to personalize the participant experience editing the Survey Name, Welcome Message, and Thank You Message, and uploading your company logo to the Survey Header to create a branded, engaging entry point.
When designing your questions, EngageRocket supports a variety of formats to match different data collection needs:

Rating Scale Questions allow participants to respond using a predefined scale. You can customize both the labels (e.g., 1–5) and value descriptions (e.g., from “Strongly Disagree” to “Strongly Agree”) to ensure responses are clear and meaningful.

Multiple-Choice Questions offer flexibility with features like an “Other” field for open-text input and the ability to define how many options participants can select—such as requiring at least two but no more than three selections.
To further tailor the survey experience, Conditional Logic enables a dynamic flow. Questions can appear or remain hidden based on earlier responses or employee segments. You can also set questions as required depending on specific responses ensuring each participant only answers what’s most relevant to them.
Once you're satisfied with your survey content, click ‘Save and Continue’ to move to the next stage.
Translations Tab
To ensure your survey is accessible to a diverse audience, the Translations tab allows you to offer the same survey in multiple languages.
Languages can be selected directly from the panel on the right-hand side of the page. While questions from EngageRocket’s template library are translated automatically, any custom questions will need manual translation. This ensures that all participants, regardless of language, can fully engage with the content.
After completing translations, proceed by clicking ‘Save and Continue.’
Tag Dimensions & Set Up Overall Score Tab
This final section is where you organize your data for deeper analysis.
You can assign Dimensions to your questions categorizing responses by key themes such as leadership, communication, or engagement. This makes it easier to analyze results across meaningful areas.
For Rating Scale Questions, you can also configure the Overall Score a calculated metric that gives you a clear, high-level view of overall sentiment or performance. This score helps organizations track trends, benchmark progress, and surface insights across teams or time periods.
After completing this setup, click ‘Save and Continue’ to proceed to the Recipients page.
