Survey or Project Not Visible in My EngageRocket Account
This article explains why a survey or project may not be visible in your EngageRocket account and what to do to get access.
⚠️ Who is this article for? This guide is for EngageRocket users who can log in to the platform but cannot see a survey or project they expect to find. If you are unsure what permissions you currently have, see How to Check What Permissions You Have in EngageRocket first.
Survey and project visibility in EngageRocket is controlled by the Survey Permissions assigned to your account. If a survey or project is missing, the cause is almost always a permissions setting or a session issue — both of which are quick to resolve.
💡 Where to start: Check whether the Survey Projects tab is visible in your navigation at all. If it is completely hidden, you have no survey permissions enabled — not just a missing survey. Contact your Entity Admin to grant access before trying anything else.
Step 1: Confirm the survey or project exists
Before assuming a permissions issue, ask your Entity Admin to confirm the survey has been created in the platform and is not still in draft status. Draft surveys may not be visible depending on your permission level.
Step 2: Check your Survey Permissions
Your Entity Admin needs to grant you either View all survey projects or View surveys permission for the Survey Projects tab to appear in your navigation. Without at least one of these, no surveys will be visible to you regardless of what has been created. Ask your Entity Admin to review your Survey Permissions and enable the appropriate level of access.
See How to Check What Permissions You Have in EngageRocket to understand your current access level.
Step 3: Check if the survey is scoped to a specific unit
Some surveys are configured to be visible only to users assigned to certain units. If the survey exists and your permissions are correct, confirm with your Entity Admin whether the survey is scoped to your team or a specific unit you are assigned to.
Step 4: Log out and log back in
Permission changes take effect immediately in the platform, but your current browser session may not yet reflect the latest settings. Log out of EngageRocket completely, then log back in and check again.
Step 5: Clear your browser cache
Cached permission data can sometimes cause outdated views even after a fresh login. Clear your browser cache, then log back in and check whether the survey is now visible.
See how to clear your browser cache (Chrome).
💡 Good to know: If the entire Survey Projects tab is hidden from your navigation, this means you have no survey permissions enabled at all — not just that a specific survey is hidden. Ask your Entity Admin to grant you at least View surveys access to make the tab appear.
Something Not Working?
My Entity Admin says my permissions are correct but I still cannot see the survey.
- Likely cause: Your current browser session or cache may still be holding outdated permission data.
- Action: Log out, clear your browser cache, and log back in. If the survey is still not visible, contact support with your email address and the name of the survey project.
The Survey Projects tab is not in my navigation at all.
- Likely cause: You have no survey permissions enabled on your account.
- Action: Contact your Entity Admin and ask them to grant you at least View surveys permission. The tab will appear once this is enabled.
⚠️ Important: Only your Entity Admin can grant or update Survey Permissions on your account. If you are unsure who your Entity Admin is, check with your HR or IT team.
