Can a survey response be reset or redone after it’s submitted?
Learn when a submitted survey response can be reset and how to request one from our Support team.
Short answer
Yes, a submitted survey response can be reset so the recipient can redo the survey, but only while the survey is still open. You can’t reset a response from the platform yourself; our Support team does it for you. Chat with us or email support@engagerocket.co to request one.
This article also covers
This article applies to any request to undo, change or repeat a submitted survey, including:
- An employee wants to redo, retake or restart the survey
- Can an employee take the survey again?
- Can I edit or change my answers after submitting?
- I submitted the survey by mistake or too early
- I selected the wrong answers and already submitted
- Can you clear, delete or remove a response?
- Can you reopen a survey for one employee?
- My survey link says the survey has already been submitted
- Someone else filled in the survey on my behalf
When a reset is possible
- Survey still open: a reset can be requested.
- Survey closed: responses can’t be reset, and the recipient can’t submit again. If you have questions, employees can contact their HR or survey admin. Admins can reach out to our Support team for further help.
If the survey closes soon, contact us as early as possible so the recipient has time to resubmit.
How to request a reset
Admins, unit heads and employees can all contact Support directly.
- Contact Support in either of these ways:
- Chat: open the chat and ask to speak with our Support team.
- Email: write to support@engagerocket.co.
- Include these details so we can find the right response:
- Survey or project name
- Recipient’s full name and email address
- Company or entity name
- Reason for the reset (optional)
- We’ll confirm once the reset is done. The recipient can then use their original survey link to take the survey again.
Admins and unit heads: removing and re-adding a recipient doesn’t reset their submitted response. Contact Support instead.
What happens after a reset
- The original response is permanently deleted and can’t be recovered.
- The recipient can take the survey again from the start and submit new answers.
- Only the new response counts in the results.
- Until the recipient resubmits, they’re counted as not yet responded, which may lower the response rate temporarily.
